Project Milestones

Spring 2024

A 2-day road closure (March 21-22) is necessary as the on-site crane is dismantled.

Fall 2023/Spring 2024

Construction will required a partial street closure of Date Avenue beginning November 27, 2023. The street will be closed from 7:00 a.m. to noon every day - except Sunday. This schedule will continue through March 2024. Sidewalks adjacent to the property will also be closed, along with the adjacent MTS bus stop.

Summer 2022

Construction Begins on Date Avenue between Orange and Allison Avenues (Aug-Sept).

Fall 2021

Community Open House - Tuesday, October 5th at 4:30 to 6:00pm. All are invited to our in-person community open house on the project site. Come and visit our information stations staffed by our USA team members to learn more and ask questions about the project.
October 12, 2021 - La Mesa City Council voted to approve the project.
October 17, 2021 - San Diego Union Tribune article about the project.
October 29, 2021 - The East County Californian: Affordable housing to replace former LMPD
